Silicon Mountain business group to meet in Truckee Monday, Dec. 13

Special to the Sun

TRUCKEE and#8212; Join the Silicon Mountain Group Monday, Dec. 13, 6-8 p.m. for an evening of inspired conversation about the virtues of bringing a state-of-the-art, flexible business space to Truckee. As the workplace becomes more and more virtual, it becomes apparant how important physical spaces and technology infrastructure and support are. Barbara, along with local property co-owner / developer Alison Pratt Shelling will introduce and discuss their vision for opening a flexible, high tech professional work space in the Camden Building on West River Street in Truckee.

Smartphones, laptops, IPads, cloud computing have liberated people from their offices, while creating whole new sets of challenges. Is the home office really the most productive place to work? Can you get your intellectual and social fix at Wild Cherries? Is being accessible (and working!) 24/7 the most efficient way to work? What does this mean for our community, your company and quality of life?

Barbara and Alison are committed to bringing shared professional, green workspace to the neighborhood. Designed specifically for the growing number of highly successful people who can work anywhere (but choose Tahoe) in hopes of feeding and inspiring a new mobile local economy. Find out about the technology and custom web app that will fully automate tomorrow’s work place, today.

The duo invites all work-at-home local business owners, consultants, freelancers, entrepreneurs, bi-coastals, Bay Area virtuals and anyone who is interested in the mobility movement. If you are intrigued by affordable, connected, green workspace come out and have a say in this new high-tech first for Truckee.

Join Silicon Mountain Dec. 13, 6-8 p.m., Tahoe Donner’s Pizza on the Hill, 11509 Northwoods Blvd. A $5 fee includes pizza, salad and soft drinks. For more information about joining the group or to RSVP, please e-mail TahoeSiliconMountain@gmail.com.

The group was founded by Dr. Johannes Ziegler, (always-icecream.com) and is Sponsored by TekSystems, a technology services company.
