Silicon Mountain Group to meet Monday

TAHOE DONNER, Calif. and#8212; Join the Silicon Mountain Group Monday, Aug. 8, 6-8 p.m. at Tahoe Donner’s Pizza on the Hill, 11509 Northwoods Blvd. for a behind-the-scenes look at world class product design.

Tom Moeller from http://www.BlueProductDevelopment.com will share with the group how he uses technology to design outdoor sports equipment and how the internet allows him to live the mountain lifestyle he loves. Tomand#8217;s been a professional since 1989 when he graduated Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif. Since then, heand#8217;s designed hundreds of products and has multiple U.S. and foreign patents. His designs range from Tour de France helmets to the whistle buckle that is seen on virtually every backpack.

Tom lives and works in Truckee and has a roster of international clients that includes Scott Bikes, Camelbak, Smith Sport Optics and Burton Snowboards. He also invents products and licenses them to companies. Heand#8217;ll discuss how you can use readily available technology to realize some of your own creations while living in mountain paradise.

Before and after the discussion, there will also be time for networking with other technology people who live and work in Tahoe-Truckee.

A $5 fee includes pizza, salad, and soft drinks.
