Ski and ride for $25 or less to benefit Tahoe Truckee schools

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Ski or ride for only $25 when you pre-purchase Skiing for Schools discounted lift tickets at participating resorts. Upcoming Skiing for Schools days include: Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort, Jan. 2-7 (ticket valid any one day during this period); Royal Gorge, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 8 and 9; Boreal Mountain Resort, Sunday, Jan. 23; Tahoe Cross Country, Sunday, Jan. 23; Sugar Bowl, Saturday, March 19; Homewood Mountain Resort, Sunday, March 20; Alpine Meadows, Sunday April 3 and Squaw Valley USA, Sunday, April 10, 2011.

and#8220;We believe this fundraiser takes full advantage of our many unique winter resorts,and#8221; explains Laura Abbey Brown, executive director of the Foundation. and#8220;We hope people will take advantage of the great snow, get a great deal on tickets and support a great cause.and#8221;

Tickets may be purchased in advance at Truckee and Tahoe City Porters Sports locations for the Skiing for Schools dates (not Community Benefit Dates). A limited number of tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis and will not be available at the resorts the day of the event. Check and cash are preferred form of payment at Porters. Tickets are not refundable. Community Benefit day tickets can only be purchased at Homewood and Alpine on their respective Skiing for Schools days.



The proceeds from each lift ticket purchase goes directly to the Excellence in Education Foundation, which provides enhanced educational opportunities to local Tahoe/Truckee area students.

The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that enhances public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District to strengthen the learning experience for students. Each year the Foundation raises money and provides grants, resources and partnerships to benefit students, teachers and the educational community as a whole.
