TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The California Clean Air Project recognized the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Parks District Board members in their support and forward movement for smoke-free parks and buildings in Truckee. This award is given by CCAP, a statewide program of ETR associates to recognize city councils or boards of supervisors for passing and enforcing a mandatory smoke-free policy/ordinance in their community. The ordinance needs to be successful in implementing any of the following: Smoke-free entryways, smoke-free parks, smoke-free outdoor dining and smoke-free multi-unit housing in their city or county.

Since 2005, more than 40 California cities and counties have received this award for public health excellence in the area of tobacco control. The award is presented to city councils and boards of supervisors in their own communities by CCAP representatives. The CCAP project is funded by the 1988 Tobacco Tax Initiative-Proposition 99 through the State of California-Department of Public Health-Tobacco Control Program. Recreation Superintendent Dan Oand#8217;Gorman and Executive Secretary Sue Mitchell were also recognized for their continued partnership with the Nevada County Tobacco Use Prevention Program.
