SnowFest! wins award from bi-state association

BERKELEY, Calif. and#8212; SnowFest!, which will be held March 2 -11, took home first place in its category for its 2011 promotional poster presented during the CalFest Celebration Awards at the CalFest Annual Convention held last week in Berkeley, Calif. SnowFest! was one of 12 events to take home awards.

CalFest is an association of event professionals in California and Nevada. The association holds an educational convention annually to assist event organizers in meeting challenges and increasing the successes of their local events. Next yearand#8217;s convention will be in San Diego.

SnowFest! was among 21 events competing in the budget category of $50,000 – $150,000. The SnowFest budget for 2011 was $63,000. A total of 86 entries were submitted, in all budget categories, in this yearand#8217;s competition.

The SnowFest! promotional poster was created and produced by John Bergman of PrintArt in Kings Beach. PrintArt is a major sponsor of SnowFest!

Awards Chairman Tim Estes, owner of Fiesta Parade Floats in Pasadena, said the submissions were among the most creative the judges have seen and they were very impressed with the quality of entries.
