Sponsor a duck to benefit Sunrise Rotary

Staff reports

The Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club has announced that sponsor ducks for its 7th Annual Duck Races are now available.

A sponsor duck is a large plastic duck (actually, a decoy) which may be purchased by a local business or individual for $100. The decorated sponsor duck competes in a beauty contest as well as a race down the river. The sponsor gets publicity for their firm or themselves and the winner is commemorated with a handsome plaque.

The 7th annual Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club Duck Races will be Saturday, Sept. 15 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Truckee River Regional Park.

Sponsor ducks for $100 and individual racing ducks for $5 or five for $20 may be adopted from any Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club member. Look for them around the community. Call Jim Damiani at (530) 550-9900 or Mark Kincheloe at (530) 582-5409 for tickets and information.

The Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club is part of Rotary International an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
