Spread Christmas cheer to ‘littles’
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. – In an effort to spread some holiday cheer, Big Brother Big Sisters of Nevada County invites you to help make a Little Brother’s or Little Sister’s wish come true this holiday season. A Little Wishing Tree is on display at Mountain Hardware in Truckee, Nov. 21 to Dec. 14, which includes wish lists for the holidays from BBBS “Littles.”
How to make a Little’s wish come true
1. Go to Mountain Hardware, located at 11320 Donner Pass Road in Truckee.
2. Go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Little Wishing Tree near the check-out stands.
3. Select a wish list ornament from the tree that you want to sponsor. This will include three items that a Little Brother or Sister wants for the holidays. You will only provide one of the items from their wish list.
Place the bottom portion of the wish list, with your name and phone number included, into the locked box by the tree before you leave.
Purchase only one of the items on the list and drop the gift off to the BBBS Truckee office, 10075 Levon Ave., Ste. 201B, upstairs in the court house building, with the wish list attached by Dec. 14.
If you would like to receive a receipt for your donation, please include your name and mailing address with the gift.
What happens to your donated gift?
Once all of the donated gifts from this drive are received, they are labeled for Littles and Santa hands them out at the annual holiday party on Dec. 16. Only one gift should be donated on each Little’s wish list so every Little receives the same number of gifts at the party. For many Littles, this may be the only gift they receive for the holidays.
