Stomp Out Hunger Grape Stomp to benefit senior nutrition programs

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212;Sierra Senior Services is holding the 2nd Annual Stomp Out Hunger Grape Stomp, Sept. 30 in conjunction with the 8th Annual Truckee Wine, Walk and Shop pitting teams against each other to raise money for the local Meals on Wheels and Senior Nutrition programs. Teams of four compete in the following positions: Stomper, inside a wine barrel; strainer, to keep the juice flowing; plunger person, controls the dowel and container holder. The competition will take place at the Truckee River Winery on Brockway Road, 4-7 p.m. Participation fee is $150 per team which includes complimentary wine tastings, a glass of wine, visits to the food buffet and a chance to compete and win prizes.Each team will compete for two minutes. The winner will be based on the most liquid. Additional awards will be for stain and style. Bring along your family and friends to help cheer your team to victory. Spectator tickets will be available for $15 per person to enjoy tastings, appetizers and music by Ben Jammin andamp; Friends.Have fun competing against local services clubs, businesses and last yearandamp;#8217;s winners, sponsored by Lake Tahoe Online.Proceeds go to Sierra Senior Services serving the local Meals on Wheels and Senior Nutrition Program.
