Student drop-off area changes at Alder Creek

Provided to the SunParents whose students will not be riding the bus to Alder Creek Middle School should be aware of some changes at the school site for student drop-off this year. The new student drop-off loop at the school is located in the parking lot that can be reached from Comstock Road to the west of the school site. All parents who are traveling to the school, either on the 267 Bypass or on Donner Pass Road, should use Pioneer Trail (located between the Forest Service offices and Coachland Mobile Home Park) to reach the student drop-off area.Parents who are driving to the school site from Prosser/Lakeview, or from Prosser Dam Road, can still use Alder Drive to get to the school site, but they will need to continue past the main entrance of school and turn left onto Comstock Road to reach the student drop-off area. The parking lot at the main entrance that was used last year for student drop-off will no longer be used for this purpose. This lot, and the new parking lot that will be added, will be used for staff parking and visitors to the school office only. For the first few days of school, the school district will have people on site helping to direct parents to the proper areas. These changes have been made based on parent comments, recommendations and for the safety of students and parents, according to school district officials.
