Student of the Week: Molly McDermott
North Tahoe High School
I’ve been in Leadership for the past four years and I am the ASB president. I’m in the Interact Club and we do a lot of community projects. We work with the Rotary to raise money for things like Hurricane Katrina and community events like our annual kids’ sled day and Christmas Party at Granlibakken
Mr. Mills. I’ve run cross country and track for him for the past four years and he has taught me a lot about myself and my potential. He pushes us, especially in running, to do things that I never thought I would be able to do and it shows you that you can always do more than you originally thought
I would have to say our homecoming festivities. Its really fun and this year we had a whole carnival. I think it will progress to be bigger with more community involvement
I think that my generation will definitely have to work with alternative ways to save the environment because it’s been thrashed over the past century. We will have to work on being more willing to walk – which will also help with all the health problems.
I think I want to be a pediatrician. I worked this summer at the Boys and Girls Club. I had a great time working will all the kids and realized that I want to help kids when I am older. Plus I like science. It would be a great way to give back.
