Sugar Bowl chosen as ‘Best of Weddings’ by The Knot
DONNER SUMMIT, Calif. – For the second year in a row, Sugar Bowl Resort has received a “Best of Weddings” award by The Knot, the nation’s most visited wedding planning website. Brides who married at Sugar Bowl nominated the resort in 2012 and 2013.
Sugar Bowl Resort offers a unique Sierra Nevada wedding location – a private, secluded mountain lodge with adjoining private lake. The wedding venue is run by expert staff noted for their attention to detail and personalized wedding planning approach.
“Sugar Bowl is honored to once again be selected as an award-winning wedding venue by the brides who have been married here,” said Meghon Shrewsbury, wedding coordinator for Sugar Bowl Resort. “The award is a recognition of Sugar Bowl’s unmatched natural beauty, secluded and intimate setting, and our wedding staff’s dedication to getting each detail perfect.”
Sugar Bowl offers a variety of wedding packages, from a full-service wedding with on-site lodging at the Sugar Bowl’s historic lodge, with an option of a rehearsal dinner at Lake Mary cabin. The Mt. Judah lodge is available for large weddings.
Sugar Bowl’s details include a private chairlift ride to Mt. Disney for drinks and appetizers on a moutaintop sun deck. Spring wildflowers, rolling green lawn, creekside location, and large, open-air firepits make an award-winning wedding venue.
Each element of the wedding, from in-house food and beverage to ceremony details, is handled with the help of Sugar Bowl’s wedding staff, including Executive Chef Al Davis and his culinary team.
Sugar Bowl is a 3.5-hour drive from the Bay Area, and within two hours of Sacramento.
