Sunshine letter: Measure A Fiesta thank you

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Committee to Renew Measure A would like to thank everyone who worked together on the Fiesta fundraiser for this campaign. Thank you very much to Northstar, Porter Simon and Squaw Valley for their major sponsorship of the event that was held at Olympic Village Lodge, Nov. 7. Tahoe Lake, Kings Beach, Glenshire, Donner Trail, Truckee Elementary Schools PTOand#8217;s, SELS and North Tahoe Fan Club did a beautiful job putting together themed baskets that were auctioned off successfully. Local community members and businesses once again called upon to donate gift certificates and too many to list answered generously.

Another big thank you to all of the restaurants that donated appetizers and desserts such as Lanzaand#8217;s, Sunnyside, Jakeand#8217;s, Tahoe House, Sugar Pine Bakery, Wild Cherries, Blue Onion, Jasons, Zanoand#8217;s, Las Panchitos, Cottonwood and Melanie Jackson. Men Wielding Fire and TIP Printing helped greatly in providing services at cost. A special thank you to Kristi Darzykiewicz for the decorations, and also to Joe Lanza, Sue Rae Irelan, Phyllis McConn, Marty Schoonmaker, Chris Spurr, Hugo Inclan, Karen Roske, Brianne Hipsley and Annette Burkhart for their support and time. Lastly, we could not have pulled it off without the huge help from volunteer teachers, principal, parents and to our guests who braved the first snow of the season to attend.

Sincerely,

Syd Earley, fiesta coordinator
