Truckee Tahoe Community TV/Channel 6 and Sierra Public Media Corporation wish to extend our heartiest thank you for the recent grant which will enable the purchase of a dedicated editing bay and related equipment. Our goal is to get as much information out to our local community as possible and this grant paves the way for new, improved and continuing projects to keep our community informed.

Special thanks to Tamara Lieberman, Lisa Dobey, and the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation grant review committee for understanding what we are about. Your commitment to our community makes us proud. It is our honor to use this grant to make a better community for us all.

TAMA: thanks for Opry help

To the editor:

Truckee Alliance for the Musical Arts, T.A.M.A., again thanks this great community for their wonderful support of our musical organization. Every night of our Grand ‘Ol Opry show was a sell-out and we enjoyed the enthusiasm of our great audiences.

We’d like to thank our hosts, Mike and Jennifer Blide and the entire crew at the Cottonwood Restaurant. Also, thanks go to George Saurbier and Jack Davis for sound and light operation. Big thanks to Pombo’s for the hay bales.

Most importantly, thank you to the group leaders, Bob French, Pete Nevin, Pete Seagoe and their families, for opening up their homes for the rehearsals. All the musicians and T.A.M.A. crew are a special group of people. They volunteer their time completely and their families are often subjected to houses full of people and instruments.

Finally, thanks to Ron Gaunt for the vision and organization to drive this show from idea to performance. He deserves an extra round of applause. Without everyone working together, T.A.M.A. wouldn’t exist. Until the next show this spring, keep up the music.

Merri McKee

T.A.M.A. President
