Tahoe City’s Annual Heart & Solstice Festival: bigger and better than ever

TAHOE CITY, Calif. – Tahoe City is ready to kick off the summer season with five days of events, all part of the Annual Heart & Solstice Festival, June 16-20, with good old-fashioned free family fun at the lake.Rev up Wednesday, June 16 at 6 p.m. with the Annual Solstice Stroll Classic Car Show presented by the North Lake Tahoe Kiwanis and sponsored by North Lake Auto Parts and Tahoe City Public Utility District. Enjoy live music and vote for your favorite car while you stroll the main drag in Tahoe City. The festivities continue June 17 with the Tahoe City Farmer’s Market at Commons Beach from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Day three of the Heart & Solstice Festival celebrates Tahoe City’s cultural elements with the first-ever live performing arts event on stage at Commons Beach. “One Night Only” will showcase Tahoe City’s most passionate performers, including works from Tahoe Youth Ballet, poetry, dance and more. Stop by Corkscrews Wine & Cheese Bar for the event pre-party at 5:30 p.m. and stay in town afterward for a special Concerts on Commons Beach fundraiser at Wolfdales starting at 9 p.m. with The Blues Monsters.Wake up Saturday morning and hit the water for the Third Annual Tahoe City PaddleFest presented by Tahoe City Kayak. Sunday marks the start of the North Shore’s largest free, outdoor music series with performances from local bands: The Blues Monsters, Dead Winter Carpenters, Drop Theory and Casual Dogs.
