Tahoe Forest Health Systems’ Women’s Wellness Weekend a wealth of health
Women of all ages are invited to attend the 19th Annual Women’s Wellness Weekend offered by Tahoe Forest Health System on Nov. 14 and 15, 2009.
The two-day event will be held at the Village at Squaw Valley and cost is $50 per person. Get your Lab Draw for $57 by Nov. 10, and have the results waiting for you at the Health Fair on Sunday, Nov. 15.
On Saturday, Nov. 14, the program includes educational sessions focused on disease prevention for women, life balance, stress reduction, nutrition, natural solutions for hormonal changes, creativity and healing, skin care, and breast health.
In conjunction with the Women’s Wellness event, Girls on the Run Sierras will be hosting LUNAFEST on Saturday evening. LUNAFEST is a film festival that will include food and wine and is open to the public. There is an additional cost to attend.
On Sunday, Nov. 15, a health fair is offered, with low-cost health screenings available at an additional charge. Optional group exercise classes and a group hike in Squaw Valley are offered on Sunday as well.

Lab Draw Cost: $57 includes lipid panel – full cholesterol screen and complete metabolic panel – includes glucose (diabetes screen, kidney and liver function screening). Register online. Labs must be taken between Nov. 10 at any of the four TFHS labs (Tahoe City, Incline or two locations in Truckee). You must attend Sunday’s Health Fair to receive your lab. A short consult will be provided. The Health Fair is open on Sunday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
