Tahoe League for Charity Awards six grants

TAHOE CITY, Calif. – At the Nov. 12 monthly luncheon meeting, Tahoe League for Charity awarded approximately $4,000 to six local nonprofit organizations. The Grant recipients were Sierra Senior Services, Laura Brown from Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation, Wendy Cook from North Tahoe Arts, Sharon Filardo from AAUW Tech Trek, Stephanie Nistler from the Humane Society of Tahoe/Truckee, and Nileta Morton from Toccata. Each organization shared their mission statements, and their goals for using the granted funds. Also part of the program was Heidi Allstead from Project MANA collecting bags of food donated by members of Tahoe League for Charity.
The Dec. 10 monthly meeting will be a holiday luncheon party held at Jake’s on the Lake in Tahoe City for all members and their guests starting at 11:30 a.m.
Tahoe League for Charity is a social and philanthropic nonprofit organization whose primary focus is to benefit the local communities of North Lake Tahoe and Truckee by providing scholarships to local high school students and grants to other local non-profit organizations.
