TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation has announced support of 17 Truckee-Tahoe area nonprofit organizations/programs through its 2012 grant cycle. These partnering organizations exemplify Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundationandamp;#8217;s dedication to improve the communityandamp;#8217;s quality of life, with a special focus on youth and environmental programs. andamp;#8220;This year the Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation was pleased to award its top grant of $20,000 to the Boys andamp; Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe,andamp;#8221; said Blake Riva, chairman of the Foundationandamp;#8217;s board of directors. andamp;#8220;In any given year, their work touches so many lives in our community through their educational, arts and sports programs.andamp;#8221;andamp;#8220;We are very proud to receive this generous support,andamp;#8221; said former executive director Isabelle Wilson. andamp;#8220;These funds will apply to important environmental, culinary, homework and health and fitness programs that are available to all Club kids. This significant award helps the Club fulfill its mission to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their potential as productive, responsible and caring members of their community.andamp;#8221;2012 Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation partner organizationsAdventure Risk Challenge, Boys andamp; Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, Disabled Sports USA Far West, Girls on the Run andamp;#8212; Sierras, Northstarandamp;#8217;s Summer Concert Series, Northstarandamp;#8217;s Snowshoe Race Series, Northstar andamp;#8211; Old Greenwood Shuttle Program, Project MANA, KidZone Museum, Camp Solace, Tahoe Family Solutions, Tahoe Rim Trail Association, Tahoe Safe Alliance, Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education and TEMPO, Truckee Community Christmas, Truckee River Watershed Council and Truckee Trails Foundation.Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation is supported through a dedicated funding source in real estate transfer fees which has allowed the organization to maintain support of community programs. In addition, the Foundation also supports a scholarship program to Truckee-Tahoe students looking to further their education. This year an additional $42,000 in scholarships is targeted.
