Tahoe premiere of Western States 100 Film, and#8216;Unbreakable,and#8217; to precede ultra-marathon

OLYMPIC VALLEY and#8212; Squaw Valley Institute (SVI) will bring ultra-marathoner and documentary filmmaker J.B. Benna, along with celebrated ultra-runners Tim Twietmeyer and Andy Wilkins-Jones, to Olympic Village Lodge on Thursday, June 21, 6:30 p.m. to discuss the sport and premiere Bennaand#8217;s new movie, and#8220;Unbreakable.and#8221; The movie tells the story of several ultra-runners who participate in the grueling 100-mile race that begins in Squaw Valley and ends in Auburn, Calif. The showing of and#8220;Unbreakableand#8221; will mark the premiere for the movie at Lake Tahoe.

With the actual race commencing on June 23, organizers of the evening expect many of the ultra-marathoners to be in attendance at the Squaw Valley Institute event. Tickets are $15 for general public; $10 for SVI members, Western States racers, and children under 18. Donations will be accepted. Attendees will find out what drives these remarkable athletes to participate in the extreme form of racing.

In addition to sponsoring the Western States 100 event, Montrail will sponsor the Squaw Valley Institute event, with CEO Topher Gaylord on hand to introduce the guest speakers. Montrailand#8217;s sponsorship will go toward subsidizing or paying for Girls on the Run – Sierras participants to attend at no cost. There are 98 girls in that program.



Montrail will also host a 6K Uphill Challenge and Fun Run at Squaw on Friday, June 22, starting at 10 a.m. Registration for the 6K is free and will be available at SVIand#8217;s and#8220;Unbreakableand#8221; screening or at the Montrail booth in Olympic Village, Friday, June 22, 8-9:30 a.m.

Purchase advance tickets at AlpenGlow sports in Tahoe City, with Montrail visors offered to the first 50 purchases there.
