Call (530) 386-3683.Chapel celebrationOn Aug. 9 at 9 a.m. the Chapel of the Transfiguration, aka Outdoor Chapel, will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. The chapel, constructed in 1909 of stone and timbers by the Watson family, is believed to be the oldest church in continuous use within the Lake Tahoe basin. Come join the celebration. There will be a Eucharistic service consecrated by Barry Beisner, Episcopal Bishop of Northern California, followed by an outdoor reception. Members and guests are encouraged to wear 1909 attire, and decorative hats will be available for all.
