Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation scholarships announced

TAHOE/TRUCKEE and#8212; Before long, many graduates of Truckee High School and North Tahoe High School will head off to college. Several have been awarded local scholarships to help them in their college pursuits. The Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 TTCF Scholarship program.

From Truckee High school

Gunner Boehm, $1,000, in the name of Norman Dewhurst, the Alta Sierra Foundation

Gabriela Garcia, $1,500, the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation Scholarship Fund

Erica Larusson, $800, The Northstar-at-Tahoe Environmental Leadership Scholarship

Tony Rodriguez, $2,500 per year for four years, the Cameron and Jane Baird Scholarship

Kyra Stone, $3,000, the Pat Sutton Memorial Scholarship

Annika Duerlington, $1,000 per year for four years, the Alpine Meadows Scholarship

From North Tahoe High School

Roxana Cabrera, $2,000 per year for four years, the Elenita Sullivan Memorial Scholarship

Beverly Olivares, $2,500 per year for two years, The Cameron and Jane Baird Scholarship

Kelsey Wittels, $500, the Robert (Fro) Frohlich Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation congratulates these scholarship recipients as well as all 2011 graduates. TTCF also thanks the volunteers who helped in the screening of the scholarship applications: Phyllis McConn, Jim Duffy, Ed Bokinskie and Lisa Dobey.
