Monies raised from the Relay are used for research, patient support, and educational, prevention programs.Thirty teams were registered, and 450 people participated in this year’s event, raising $34,645,806 in California, with $67,500 of that amount from the Truckee-Tahoe Relay. Walking in Tahoe for Lives was the No. 1 team, and Soroptimist International of Truckee-Donner was No. 2. Kim Zirbel raised the most individual dollars. Eighty-three survivors walked the first lap to celebrate their fight, remissions, and cures. The hope is there will be less diagnosis and a greater number of remissions and cures every year. As one walker said, “It’s a joy to celebrate another cancer free year.”Participants walked to remember their family and friends who have lost the battle and with hope for and in support of those who are fighting this disease.Without the help of all the volunteers, and participants, the Relay could not have been as successful. The Relay Committee extends a huge thank you to all for your time and effort.NaturaMed Fall Cleanse ClassAnn Sura, ND, invites you to attend a doctor supervised group class format in proper cleansing and detoxification.
