Moment Skis presents, with High Fives Nonprofit Foundation, Skirp Clothing and Level 1 productions, will present the premier of the ski film “Eye Trip,” an award-winning film following skiers from Helsinki to Alaska, Saturday, Oct. 16 at FiftyFifty Brewing Co. in Truckee. “Look on the Bright Side” by Voleurz will also be showing. All proceeds to benefit High Fives, a local, nonprofit foundation dedicated to raising money and awareness for athletes who have suffered a life-altering injury. Donations requested at the door. The healing professionals at the Lake Tahoe Wellness Center know a tough economy doesn’t mean people need to put health and wellness on the back burner. In response, LTWC is offering “Doctors with a Heart,” which offers discounted acupuncture or chiropractic care for uninsured or financially challenged people, Saturday, Oct. 16, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Chiropractor Dr. Lily Kuehne D.C. and acupuncturist Mark Kuehne L.Ac will offer chiropractic adjustments for $20 and acupuncture treatments for $35 on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment needed and no insurance accepted. Yoga instructor Deborah Scarborough will teach a free yoga class. The program resonates with Lake Tahoe Wellness Center’s mission statement: Good health is not merely the absence of pain and disease. Mike Welch, a 17-year veteran NCAA college head volleyball coach and two-time USA Youth National Team Head Coach, will lead a four-week volleyball clinic. The Peak Volleyball Clinic will run four consecutive Mondays beginning Oct. 18. Expert training for all level players in fifth through eighth grades, 5-7 p.m. at Alder Creek Middle School, Truckee.
