Tahoe Truckee Sunshine Letter: West Shore fundraiser

TAHOE, Calif. and#8212; Friends of the West Shore had a delightful fundraiser Nov. 27. We met at the Tahoe Maritime Museum in Homewood. Carol Van Etten, a West Shore historian, spoke for more than two hours as more questions kept coming. The food from Dand#8217;Lish was awesome, especially the sushi.

Caroland#8217;s lectures are so deeply ingrained; it is as if she still knows these people. Carol knew the answers to multiple questions and interests, she is amazing. She was able to help us understand who and why the West Shore development in such a fascinating way.

The ambiance on such a snowy night was set by the Maritime Museumand#8217;s warm wooden glow, fireside seating and all the history within the museum itself. Individuals such as Patti Williams helped with every detail, even a last minute snow plow for the parking lot. We left full of knowledge and food, warmed with the good company in beautiful surroundings.
