The Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club would like to thank the people of Truckee that came out to enjoy the debut of the Truckee Chili Cookoff on Sunday, June 28. The funds raised will benefit Truckee-North Tahoe programs addressing the needs of youth, economically disadvantaged and elderly. Thanks are due to Pleasant Heads, Bud Worrell, the Sierra Mountainaires, Jerri Praught, andamp;#8220;Reverendandamp;#8221; Buddy Wright and the Red Devils Rhythm Section and The Railroad Regulators along with Brian andamp;#8220;Shaggyandamp;#8221; Smith, our talented emcee.Special thanks to Jake McCormick at Blue Coyote for keeping all the food and beverages cold and finally, to all of our civic-minded volunteers, too numerous to mention, who ensured every guest had a rollicking good time.This new community event will return on Sunday, June 27, 2010. We all want to thank the Queen of Hearts for their Senior Day Project on Sunday, June, 27, 2009. This is the second year you have come and done things for many of the residents that are very hard or impossible for them to do themselves.
