Tahoe Womenand#8217;s Services announces International Womenand#8217;s Day panel discussion

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; March 8 is International Womenand#8217;s Day! In celebration of the 100th anniversary, Tahoe Womenand#8217;s Services will host a panel discussion about the important role education plays in helping girls to flourish as women and to prepare them for taking on leadership roles in society that solves social problems on an international level such as poverty, overpopulation, gender inequality, and violence in communities. This event will take place Tuesday, March 8, 5:30-7 p.m. in the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences Building, room 139 at Sierra Nevada College, Incline Village, Nev.

Panelists include Barbara Shaw of the Maasai Girls Education Fund; local educator Monica Caldari; Director of the UC Berkeley Adventure Risk Challenge program Jennifer Gureki; Tahoe Womenand#8217;s Services Violence Prevention Educator Paul Bancroft; Dean of Education and Associate Provost at Sierra Nevada College Shannon Beets and Truckee Police Chief Nicholas Sensley. This event is free and open to the public.
