TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8212; Tahoe Youth Ballet will present a special evening of performance and celebration: the culmination of the companyand#8217;s Young Dancerand#8217;s Workshop with guest artists from around the globe.

Returning guest teacher and choreographer Constantine Baecher (founding artistic director of Copenhagenand#8217;s Cross Connection Ballet) is joined by Yannis Adoniou and his own Kunst-Stoff Dance Company from San Francisco. The evening will feature an in-studio performance of Kunst-Stoff dance company with TYBand#8217;s artists in Adoniouand#8217;s and#8220;Less Sylphides,and#8221; as well as dances created during the workshop. Wine and refreshments will also be served.

and#8220;The evening is a true representation of what our company is all about,and#8221; said Christin Hanna, artistic director of Tahoe Youth Ballet. and#8220;It brings in amazing artists from all parts of the world to work with Tahoeand#8217;s young dancers, and then turns around and presents what weand#8217;ve created together in the studio to the public.and#8221;

Hanna hopes to do more in-studio presentations. Since the expansion of the space in the fall of 2011, the studio can be used as a performance venue for smaller events such as this, which enables the company to present work without the limits of higher production costs of performances in a proscenium theater.

and#8220;This is how work is presented in larger cities by more experimental groups, like Kunst-Stoff and like the company I danced for in New York. Itand#8217;s bare bones, and the audience is more connected to the dancers and#8212; to hear them breathe and see them sweat is a more visceral experience to the viewer,and#8221; said Hanna.

In her time in New York, Christin facilitated the collaboration between New Chamber Ballet and longtime friend Constantine Baecher. Two of his works, and#8220;Viduityand#8221; and and#8220;Sketches of a Woman Rememberingand#8221; have also been presented by Tahoe Youth Ballet.

Constantine Baecher was born in Boston, Mass. He began his dance training at the Walnut Hill School in Natick, Mass. and continued at the Hamburg Ballett Schule. From 2003-2011 he danced with the Royal Danish Ballet where he originated roles in works by Alexei Ratmansky, Jorma Uotinen, Louise Midjord, Tim Rushton, Kenneth Greve, Matjas Mrozewski and John Neumeier, as well as performing in the companyand#8217;s classical repertoire and choreographing and#8220;The Ungentle Guest.and#8221; He is the founder and co-artistic director of Cross Connection Ballet in Copenhagen, for which he choreographed and#8220;Deportee,and#8221; and#8220;Aria and Anvil,and#8221; and#8220;Chiaroscuro,and#8221; and#8220;SOMA,and#8221; and and#8220;Palimpsest.and#8221; For New Chamber Ballet, he has choreographed and#8220;Wanderlust,and#8221; and#8220;Terzetto,and#8221; and#8220;Arachnophilia,and#8221; and#8220;All the Rage,and#8221; and more. Mr. Baecher is currently working with the Sagand#8217;i Gross Dance Company in Amsterdam.

In 1998 Yannis Adoniou founded the critically acclaimed dance company, Kunst-Stoff with longtime collaborator Tomi Paasonen to explore the intersection of multiple art forms and aesthetics, employing dance as the central medium. With Kunst-Stoff dance company, his works have toured throughout the USA and internationally with critical acclaim. Since 2010, Adoniou runs the performing and visual arts space Kunst-Stoff arts, located in downtown San Francisco, where he teaches, curates and creates works for Kunst-Stoff dance company.

Tahoe Youth Ballet was started in 2009 with the mission to enrich the cultural and educational fabric of Lake Tahoe by establishing a professional level ballet company, where young local dancers and dance students collaborate with professional dancers, choreographers and master teachers from around the country to share classical and contemporary dance within the community and beyond. The company has become known for presenting a diverse repertory in consistently energetic and inspiring performances.
