I Have a Draft: Shaping and Revising
Do you have a writing project that needs a creative kick in the butt? Here you will develop your draft into a more refined piece through monthly feedback in a small dedicated group while learning techniques for structuring and revising your book as well as tips on publishing. Cost is $155 for all three or $55 each.
Tuesdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Jan. 29, Feb. 19, and March 19, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Poetry Workshop
Practice new ways to approach language and craft in your writing of any genre in this workshop through guiding prompts, readings, and discussion. Even if you don’t “get” poetry, you will come away with crazy new ideas for your writing. Cost is $40 each or $75 for both.

Do you know what you want to say but don’t know how to say it? Do you need to write for your business but feel your writing doesn’t stand out in a crowd? Monday Night Creative Writing Workshop Series
The six-week session is a productive place to invigorate your writing and how you think about creativity. Read and discuss an aspect of craft each week and generate new material using several prompts. Cost is $140, March 11-April 15, 6-8 p.m.
How to Write a Better Blog
This workshop will help you generate new material and develop writing in progress with fresh energy to grab your reader’s attention and keep it. Get specific constructive feedback on improving the effect of your writing. Cost is $40 or two for $75.

Karen Terrey teaches English and Creative Writing at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nev. She offers writing workshops in Truckee through her business Tangled Roots Writing, as well as serving as poetry editor for Quay, a literary arts journal. Some of her poems have been published in Moonshine Ink, Sierra Nevada Review, Autumn Sky, Word Riot, Rhino and Edge. She earned her Master’s of Fine Arts from Goddard College and is the recipient of a Sierra Arts Endowment Grant in 2009 and a John Woods Scholarship to the Prague Summer Program.
