Teacher of the Week: Betsy Hansen

Alder Creek Middle School

I just love to teach ” I’ve always loved to teach. And, my fifth-grade teacher was really mean, so I decided that I would become a teacher, but not like her. It’s everything (I wanted it to be). I love it.

My favorite part is being able to see the kids grow and learn. I just try to make sure that they’re all taken care of and learning.

My mom. She’s a good teacher ” she teaches special education, and she taught me everything I know.

Science. We get to do a lot of investigative and hands-on activities. The kids really get into it, and they have an opportunity to explore and discover.

Coaching the Truckee-Tahoe Swim Team. We have about 95 swimmers on the team from 4 to 18 (years old).
