On Valentine’s Day 2006, the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation launched its Queen of Hearts campaign, seeking to accomplish what many believed would be impossible: Within one year, encourage 1,000 women to each contribute $1,000 as founding members of a philanthropic fund ” the Queen of Hearts Fund.

Not only was the community foundation successful in its one-year campaign to establish a $1 million trust, the Queen of Hearts fund continues to grow.

Most recently, 25 women were named to the Queen of Hearts fund when Teichert Aggregrates donated $25,000 to the Queen of Hearts in their honor.
