Town future to be discussed

“Truckee Talks” host Maia Schneider will feature representatives of the Town of Truckee this week in a discussion about town activities.

Joining Maia in the discussion are Town Planner Duane Hall, Chief of Police Dan Boon and Steve Johnson of the Truckee Public Works Department.

Hall talks about the recent census numbers and compares them to past years, while Boon talks about his background and visions for the new Truckee Police Department, and Johnson maps out an aggressive road repair program for this summer and explains why traffic delays should be improved from last year.

“Truckee Talks” is broadcast on Truckee-Tahoe Community TV’s Channel 6, on the USA Media cable system, at 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, 10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. This show begins a one-week run tonight, April 26.

“Backcountry TV”

“Backcountry TV” turns its cameras on Fletch Films in this week’s episode. Peter Fletcher and Robert Del-Villar are the guests. Craig Dostie, publisher and editor of Couloir Magazine, is the host.

“Fletch” shows footage from his new movie “Skills to pay the Bills,” and a clip from a recent powder day at Relay Peak. The highlight is Robert’s jump of the China Wall near Donner Summit.

This episode of “Backcountry TV” plays through April 29, Thursday to Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. on Channel 6 of the USA Media cable system.
