Tickets are on sale for Trails and Vistas Sept. 12 and 13. Reserve a space for your hike among majestic aspen groves, towering pines and grassy meadows with poets, musicians and dancers.Themed “Terra Caeli,” which translates from Latin as earth and sky, the interactive art hike features eight individual performing venues along a two-mile single-track trail that begins at the Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center in Truckee.Trails and Vistas signature event is a celebration of nature through the arts. By cultivating an environment that showcases creative arts and environmental stewardship, the organization strives to inspire individual participation in both the arts and land conservation. Along with more than 30 new and returning performers, there will be a new equestrian element as world-renowned Cavalia choreographer Alain Gauthier partners with InnerRhythms Dance Theatre on three equine performances. “At every stop you will get a different and unexpected experience through art, culture, and the environment. We hope that your memories will stay with you long after the walk has ended,” says Artistic Director Nancy Tieken Lopez.The three producing local nonprofit organizations, The Truckee Donner Land Trust, Arts For the Schools and InnerRhythms Dance Theatre will be benefactors of Trails and Vistas. Tickets for Trails and Vistas Terra Caeli are $25 adult and $10 child, at the Truckee Chamber of Commerce Train Depot location or visit http://www.TrailsandVistas.org. Adult ticket prices increase $5 after Aug. 15 and no tickets are available the day of the event.

KidZone Museum is sponsoring a family community egg painting workshop on Aug. 19 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. with master egg painter Cathee van Rossem St. Clair. Artwork created will be displayed at Trails and Vistas “Terra Caeli” art hike in September. RSVP by calling KidZone at 587-5437. Bring a potluck dish to share and $5 for art supplies. All skill levels are welcome, for ages 10 to adults.
