TRIO is in the historic (1874) Kruger-White House, part of “Brickelltown,” the west end of historic downtown Truckee, 10292 Old Donner Pass Road just east of the roundabout. The wine list has more than 30 wines by the glass with 10 flights to play with – you can even make your own flight. It represents major wine regions from around the world with a wide range of by-the-glass prices and wow! what wines they’ve found for the prices. The menu is fresh, affordable and diverse, from spring rolls and grilled gruyere sandwiches with tomato bisque to lamb lollipops and a darn fine 14 ounce New York or rib eye steak. If you are not that hungry just get an order of roasted beets, potatoes or veggies. And a bit about the ambience … it’s a beautiful, meticulously refurbished Victorian built in the mid-19th century oozing with elegant comfort. Sit at a table for a serious dinner or lounge in a cozy couch nook, sip bubbly and listen to great music with friends. Open daily from 4 p.m. until midnight, with a full food menu until 11 p.m. Phone 582-2323.
