Truck driver appreciation day and open house at California Highway Patrol Donner Pass Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The California Highway Patrol Donner Pass Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility will be hosting its Fifth Annual Truck Driver Appreciation Day and Open House on Sept. 24, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Our economy is dependent upon the commercial industry, independent owner operators and professional truck drivers, for the safe and efficient movement of commodities throughout the state and nation.

The commercial vehicle enforcement facility is located at 12800 Interstate 80, approximately five miles east of downtown Truckee on westbound Interstate 80 and just east of the Department of Agricultureand#8217;s Inspection Station.

The California Trucking Association, the Nevada Motor Transport Association and various local and national commercial trucking companies will sponsor the event by providing food and beverages for truck drivers and the community. Commercial enforcement officers from California and Nevada Highway Patrol will be available to answer questions and provide information related to their commercial programs. Additionally, the California Highway Patrol will be showcasing a departmental helicopter, mounted horse patrol, motorcycle and canine enforcement officer.



Commercial and driver safety information will be available. Commercial drivers and local residents are invited to stop by, enjoy the festivities and tour the facility.
