Truckee Boosters recognize supporters, encourage Wolverine purchases

Special to the Sun

TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; As Truckee High School reflects on the success of its athletic teams this fall, the Boosters want to recognize the many businesses that helped contribute to the teams’ successes and to remind everyone with the holidays approaching, there are many Wolverine Booster items on sale at their website, http://www.truckeeboosters.org.First, a look at what the student-athletes accomplished: football and volleyball won their third consecutive state championships. Soccer was not far behind, with the boys coming in second (barely) and girls coming in third at their state tournament. The tennis team sent several players in state in that tournament with multiple players going to the podium.Theses results are obviously the result of the hard work of the student athletes, their parents and coaches, but also the entire Truckee community. Those businesses and individuals helping the various teams include: Football: Blue Coyote, Truckee Bagel, Tahoe-Forest Hospital, Truckee-Tahoe Airport District, Truckee Fire Protection District, Hudson Design, KTKE Radio, Save Mart, the Bosco Family, Plumas Bank, Advanced Asphalt, Bank of the West, Tahoe-Donner, John Shaffer and Shaffer Paving and all of the businesses participating in the andamp;#8220;Truckee football dining card.andamp;#8221;Soccer: Wandamp;T Graphix, Zano’s, McClintock Accountancy, Eberhardt Construction, Black Diamond Construction, Tahoe Center for Health andamp; Sports Performance, Truckee Pizza, High Sierra Towing.Volleyball: Tahoe Forest Hospital, Truckee Pizza, Panda Express.Tennis: Tahoe Donner. There are certainly other businesses and individuals that have helped these teams and they all should be acknowledged as Boosters cannot provide all of the support the teams need. But, the proceeds from the Booster sales go to help all of the students at Truckee High, with and emphasis on Arts, Academics and Athletics. Congratulations and thanks goes out to the entire Truckee Community for supporting our student-athletes. Be sure to support and follow the winter sports competitions, drama and music presentations.andamp;#8212; Submitted to aedgett@sierrasun.com
