Truckee Community Christmas featured topic on Truckee Talks

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Sharing the holiday spirit with local families in need is the topic on Truckee Talks.

Host Maia Schneider interviewed Katie Shaffer and Lauren Schaake-Hudson from the Truckee Community Christmas (TCC) Board of Directors. Shaffer and Schaake-Hudson provided background on TCC and explained the needs for this yearand#8217;s holiday season.

TCC acts as an umbrella organization, coordinating the various drives that are underway in the community. A Warm Coat drive, a Food Drive, a Toy Drive, and a Senior Gift Drive are all underway. A number of local agencies, including the Family Resource Center of Truckee and Project MANA are participating in TCC and helping to identify families and individuals in need. Barrels for food donations are available at grocery stores, and the TCC volunteers emphasize canned vegetable donations are especially welcome.
