Truckee Day returns

Truckee Day champions are well into the planning stages of this year’s roadside trash pickup day. The champions act as the coordinators in their neighborhoods and help put the event together. Last year, 1,000 volunteers hit the streets and picked up more than nine tons of trash.

In addition to the roadside cleanup, a town-wide block party will take place at noon at Truckee River Regional Park. Cleanup volunteers will get free entry and food, and there will be live music.

Bags and instructions will be provided to volunteers the morning of the pick up. Truckee Day is Saturday, June 3. For more information contact Nichole Dorr at the Town of Truckee at 582-7707, or visit
