Truckee, donand#8217;t flush money down the toilet!

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Truckee Donner Public Utility Districtand#8217;s Water-Efficient Toilet Rebate program gives cash to customers who replace old toilets with new water-saving ones. Customers with homes or businesses built before 1992 can replace up to three old toilets with water-efficient toilets and receive a $100 rebate on each one.

By replacing old toilets, customers will not only receive a rebate, they will also conserve a significant amount of water. Older toilets typically use between 3-7 gallons of water per flush. New, water-saving toilets and#8212; required in homes and businesses 1992 and after and#8212; only use 1.6 gallons of water per flush, or less.

and#8220;Conserving water is becoming more and more important, and the TDPUD is working hard to help our customers save water and save money,and#8221; said Tony Laliotis, TDPUD director. and#8220;Toilets are one of the biggest water users inside a home or business so replacing your older, inefficient toilets can be a great investment.and#8221;

To receive a $100 rebate, customers must submit a rebate request form for up to three toilets per household or business. A proof of purchase must be included with the form, and customers must provide proof that their old toilets have been decommissioned.
