Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce to launch Good Morning Truckee
TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce will be taking the lead as the presenting organization for Good Morning Truckee (formerly The Daybreak Club), a community forum designed to provide timely and relevant information on a variety of topics and create a networking opportunity.
The Daybreak Club was founded by Maia Schneider of the Tahoe Forest Health System four years ago. A similar program, Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club, has been held for more than 25 years in Tahoe City. After it was announced Schneider and the Tahoe Forest Health System were discontinuing the program, the Chamber and a group of community leaders came together to start discussions to pick it up.
and#8220;We all felt this was a program that would create a void for the community if someone did not take it on,and#8221; explained Neil Cunningham, Chair of the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce. and#8220;While it is being presented as a Chamber program, it really is the communityand#8217;s forum and we are encouraged by the group of people who are committed to its success. It will become a community program put on by the community.and#8221;
Good Morning Truckee is open to the public: Everyone is invited second Tuesdays of each month, Truckee Town Hall, 7-8:30 a.m. As a Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce member benefit, members will receive a reduced rate. Price at the door for general public is $10; Chamber members $8.
Good Morning Truckee will launch March 8. The first presentation will feature Andy Chapman of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association and Julie Maurer of Squaw Valley USA on the Amgen Tour of California; and also speakers on the Truckee Donner Chamber economic development initiative Truckee Tomorrow (produced in partnership with the Town and the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association).
