TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Thanksgiving leftovers hit the refrigerator and the holiday season is in full swing and#8212; just check out any local store and youand#8217;ll see holiday wares on display. It also means many people will pull down the holiday decoration boxes and string up the holiday lights. The swap-out begins on Monday, Nov. 29 at the TDPUD office , 11570 Donner Pass Road, Truckee.
Customers may take in a copy of their TDPUD electric bill with up to three strands of old incandescent holiday lights and the TDPUD will replace them with either one 66-foot or three 23-foot white or multicolor LED lights. These energy-efficient holiday lights save up to 98 percent on energy costs versus the old-style incandescent lights.
