Truckee-Donner Recreation andamp; Parks District announces free riding day July 16 at McIver Arena
TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Truckee-Donner Recreation andamp; Park District has formed a new committee of dedicated equestrians whose mission is to foster and promote the McIver Arena in the Truckee Donner area, facilitate a safe and inviting working arena for the equestrian community at large. Committee members are Jennie Bartlett, Heather Graziano, Jackie Well, Phyllis Keller, Dottie Hudecek, Mary Blocher, Ronda Brooks and Maxi Chelli. Their combined knowledge in the horse industry brings more than a century of experience and dedication.Committee members are qualified and passionate about trail riding, western pleasure/equitation, English pleasure/equitation, endurance, show management, stock work, ranch work, cutting horses, fox hunting horses, training, jumping dressage, horseshoeing, the Truckee Donner Horsemenandamp;#8217;s Association and the Tahoe Rim Riders 4-H club.The Equestrian Committee is hosting a free riding day Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Bring your horses to the arena, test it out, get information on season passes and meet the committee members. Thanks to the equipment from Advanced Asphalt, TDRPD was able to pull up the top 8 inches of footing, screen it for rocks and dragged the surface. If you are looking for the perfect place to exercise or train your horse then you need to visit the McIver Arena. The TDRPD Equestrian Committee is pleased to announce the McIver Arena is open to the public for use with the purchase of a season pass. Passes are $25 for a single and $50 for a family.
