TRUCKEE, Calif. – Girl Scout Troop # 57 of Truckee participated in their own random acts of

kindness. They stopped by the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments to visit with Tony (Sal) Marsalas.

After that, they took heart-shaped pillows to the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center in Truckee. The girls made the pillows to give to those patients who may be uncomfortable with seat belts after surgery. Or for those who just need something warm and fuzzy to hold while going through chemo or radiation treatments.

Martha Simon of the Cancer Center gave the girls a tour of the facility.
