Truckee High School students medal at theater festival

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Five members of the Truckee High School Drama Club recently competed in the 57th annual Lenaea High School Theatre Festival at the Three Stages venue in Folsom. Sophomores Mikayla Mattocks and sophomore Savannah Wilkinson received Gold medals for their duo scene from “Stage Door” and performed the scene for the entire festival assemblage at Sunday night’s awards ceremony. Senior Kaelyn York (Bronze) and junior Calvin Brady (Judges Choice) also medaled for their monologue selections.
The Lenaea Festival is a three-day event with more than 1,000 students from 55 Northern California High School theater programs in attendance. The students perform one-act plays, monologues, scenes and musical theater songs selections, and receive feedback on their performances from theater professionals and faculty members from throughout California and the U.S.
