Many things: Pristine blue waters, dramatic snow capped mountain peaks, summer and winter recreation opportunities which cannot be matched worldwide, colorful history, great dining, lodging and resort facilities. Most of all it is the small town communities pulling together to support a spectacular lifestyle for themselves and visitors in the area that make our area special. This quality of life, caring for the environment as well as the people who live in it, is what maintains the base value of our area. Economic swings come and go, but in the end their may be no better place to invest your time and money than in Truckee/Lake Tahoe. With that in mind, many people are finding this a prime opportunity to upgrade their properties with additions and remodeling. In the past, our market had been growing so fast that long delays and a shortage of skilled contractors made the construction process much harder and more expensive. Now a primary or vacation homeowner can get good service and the personal attention to detail that they want for their properties. At the Truckee Home & Building Show you can meet with top quality builders and architects who have been serving our area for decades. Take a look at the most innovative products from countertops to flooring, garage doors to appliances, fireplaces and spas, even clog free rain gutters and low-voltage ice melt systems. Landscapers will give you ideas for efficient and easy to maintain outdoor designs. Interior decorators and one-of-a-kind furniture displays will help you finish it all off. Custom finishing details are what make the Truckee Home & Building Show so unique. Find hand crafted doors with artistic forged metal panels of wildlife or your own personal design. Choose from hand hammered copper kitchen sinks and log design beds that fold away when not in use. Explore custom copper fabrication options to detail out your home. See the selection of stone, metal and copper roofs.Compare the variety of bear proof garbage enclosures all in one place, and consider different home heating and cooling systems. Shop for woodstoves and fireplaces. Look into a tankless hot water system and never run out of hot water again.. Learn about audio/video components to plan a new home theater set-up. Meet with painting and staining professionals and learn about environmentally friendly products. At the Truckee Home & Building Show you will have the opportunity to explore the many ways to create a structure. Discover the beauty and craftsmanship in systems that have stood the test of time like majestic timber frames and log home structures. Explore the advantages offered by insulated concrete forms (ICFs) where sound proofing, strength and high-energy efficiency come into play. Understand the convenience of structural insulated panels. Of course the traditional framed home offers many of these features now with high-tech insulation and window systems as part of the picture. Take the tight seal provided by soy-based polyurethane foam insulation for example. Eliminate the guess work by meeting with the experts. For two full days you will have great access to all of our exhibitors this Memorial Day weekend.
