Truckee police reports

The following police reports are collected from Truckee Police Department and Nevada County Sheriff’s Office reports from June 28 to July 5.

June 28

– At 2:30 p.m. on Donner Pass Road there was a hit-and-run auto accident in the double round-about.



– At 6 p.m. on Donner Pass Road at the Interstate 80 central off-ramp there was a head-on vehicle collision. The collision was suspected to have been caused by a passenger who allegedly assaulted the driver, causing the driver to lose control. The passenger was arrested on suspicion of felony assault and the driver was taken to Washoe Medical Center to be treated for injuries and arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

June 29



– At 7:50 a.m. on Crestview Drive a suspect was arrested on suspicion of having an outstanding no-bail warrant.

– At 10:05 a.m. on Donner Pass Road a suspect was arrested on suspicion of having a no-bail misdemeanor warrant out of Fresno County.

– At 12:55 p.m. on Levon Avenue a juvenile was arrested on suspicion of having an outstanding no-bail warrant from the Nevada County Probation Department.

– At 1:15 p.m. on Highway 89 south at Donner Pass Road there was a two-vehicle collision.

– At 4:30 p.m. on Donner Pass Road at Donner Lake Road a vehicle was stopped for speeding. The passenger was arrested on suspicion of having an outstanding felony warrant.

– At 9:45 p.m. on Donner Pass Road at Levon Avenue a vehicle was stopped on suspicion of traveling over the double yellow lines and onto the shoulder of the roadway. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and the vehicle was towed.

– At 10 p.m. on Highway 89 south there was a non-injury vehicle accident.

June 30

– At 2:15 a.m. on Stone Pine Road officers responded to reports of an intoxicated female subject who was assaulting her mother. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of assaulting both her husband and her mother, and during the arrest she also allegedly assaulted a police officer, according to police.

– At 3:30 p.m. on Donner Pass Road at Glenshire Drive a bicyclist was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public and for being a traffic hazard.

– At 6:15 p.m. on Donner Pass Road there was a two-vehicle non-injury traffic accident at the Beacon gas station.

– At 9:10 p.m. there was a report of two juveniles who stole a 12-pack of beer from Safeway and then ran to a vehicle that was waiting in the parking lot. All parties were gone upon officer arrival.

July 1

– At midnight on Church Street east of Bridge Street there was a subject passed out in the roadway. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

– At 12:20 a.m. on Donner Pass Road a man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness after an officer witnessed the man stumbling down the road.

– At 2:30 a.m. on Donner Pass Road west of Northwoods Boulevard a subject was stopped on a bicycle for weaving, running a red light, and for not having proper reflective equipment. The subject was arrested on suspicion of riding a bicycle under the influence of alcohol.

– At 11:10 a.m. on Glenshire Drive west of Berkshire Circle there was a non-injury vehicle accident.

– At 4 p.m. on Brockway Road at Palisades Drive a vehicle was stopped for a code violation. The driver was arrested on suspicion of having an outstanding felony warrant and for being unlicensed.

– At 9:05 p.m. on Brook Lane at Meadow Way a vehicle was stopped for code violations. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

– At 9:35 p.m. on Donner Trail at Brook Lane a vehicle was stopped for rolling a stop sign. The driver was cited for having an expired license and the vehicle was towed.

– At 10:35 p.m. on Donner Pass Road a driver was stopped at a DUI check point and displayed symptoms of intoxication. The driver performed poorly during a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a preliminary alcohol screening device. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

July 2

– At 1 a.m. on South Shore Drive at Donner Lake an officer responded to a report of a man yelling at a possibly intoxicated juvenile. The officer located a male subject who was found to be intoxicated and who said that he had rammed the locked gate to free his vehicle. The subject was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

– At 2:20 a.m. on West River Street at Brockway Road a vehicle was stopped for a code violation. The driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited.

July 3

– At 7:30 p.m. on Highway 89 south at Donner Pass Road a vehicle was stopped for failing to yield in the roundabout. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

– At 10:40 p.m. on Donner Pass Road a motorcycle was seen towing a skateboarder. When confronted by law enforcement the driver dumped the motorcycle and fled on foot. The motorcycle was towed for having expired registration.

July 4

– At 12:35 a.m. on Donner Pass road a vehicle was stopped for reportedly weaving. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

– At 9:15 p.m. on West River Street there was a two-vehicle traffic accident.

– At 10:40 p.m. on Donner Pass Road a subject who was crying the middle of the road was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.
