Truckee pool to reopen Sept. 19

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Truckee Pool will reopen on Sept. 19. The original opening date of Sept. 12 has been postponed because of boiler problems.

Currently located at 11725 Donner Pass Road, behind the Tahoe-Truckee High School, amenities include a 1-meter spring diving board, swim training and water aerobic equipment, easy entry ladders as well as a hydraulic lift. Truckee Pool school year schedule:

Lap swim:



Monday-Friday, 6-8 a.m.

Tuesday and Thursday, noon-2 p.m.

Monday and Wednesday, 6-8 p.m.

Tuesday and Thursday, 6-9 p.m.

Friday, 5-7 p.m.

Combo swim:

Tuesday and Thursday, 7-9 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday, 2:30-5 p.m.

What can you expect from a four week closure:

New paint on floors and walls, Fresh warm water, new boiler, no unexpected cold showers, a bathroom cleaning schedule, new air exchange system with one inlet fan bringing in fresh air and two new outlet fans.

Pool programs:

Adult fundamentals of swimming, two levels for beginners and intermediate swimmers; Masters Swim Team- back to original schedule of Tuesday/Thursday 6:45-8 a.m. and Saturday 7-8:30 a.m.; Water aerobics, Tuesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.-noon; Truckee Tahoe Swim Team; childrenand#8217;s learn to swim lessons; childrenand#8217;s advanced swim lessons and scuba diving.
