Truckee Sunrise Rotary will host second candidates’ forum

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club will host the second event in its series of candidates’ forums with candidates for the Truckee Fire Protection District Board.

On Tuesday, Oct. 5, candidates for the Truckee Fire Protection District Board, Victor Hernandez, Joseph Straub, Gerald Herrick and Paul Wilford will present their qualifications and answer questions from the attendees.

The forum will be held at 7 a.m. at the Club’s regular meeting at Donner Lake Kitchen, 13710 Donner Pass Road, Truckee.



and#8220;This forum is reflective of the dedication to the community of the Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club,and#8221; commented Jamie Brimer, club president. and#8220;The format will allow interested Truckee voters to hear from and question the candidates in an informal setting.and#8221;

The candidates are expected to address the key issues facing the Fire Protection District and#8211; EOA (Exclusive Operating Area) for the ambulance service, the permit issues of the Glenshire Fire station, fiscal management and the firing of Chief Bryce Keller.



On Tuesday, Oct. 19, candidates for the Truckee Town Council will appear in a similar forum. Candidate Carl Jeffries and incumbents Mark Brown, Richard Anderson and Carolyn Wallace Dee will appear.

Tuesday, Oct. 26, candidates for the Truckee Tahoe Airport District Board, Ernest Alioto, Desmond Elder, Robert Cohune, Katie Morrison and John Jones will appear in a similar forum.

The public is encouraged to attend all of these significant forums. Breakfast will be available.
