Truckee Tahoe Airport District snowblower finds new home on Lake Tahoeand#8217;s north shore

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Truckee Tahoe Airport District recently provided the Placer County Public Works Department with a 1976 Idaho Norland snow blower. In 2010 the Airport District received a grant from the FAA to purchase a new snow blower to replace the 1976 model. The and#8217;76 snow blower had served the Airport for many years. It was decided by Airport staff and Placer County Public Works the older blower still had some years of service left in it.

In February 2011 the Truckee Tahoe Airport District Board of Directors approved the transfer of ownership to Placer County to allow this equipment to continue to serve Airport District constituents in the Lake Tahoe Basin. A condition of the no cost transfer is the blower must serve constituents within the boundaries of the Airport District. The Truckee Tahoe Airport District boundaries encompass the entire eastern portions of both Placer and Nevada Counties.
