Kings Beach Parents Co-op expands programs

The Kings Beach Parents Co-op, which opened as a preschool program in the fall of 2006, continues to expand and plans to offer a multi-age elementary school program for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year, in addition to existing preschool and pre-kindergarten programs. This new program is open to children in grades K-5 and will incorporate a place-based style of learning. Compliance with state testing regulations is enforced, and our teacher is a California certified educator. Individuality, respect, and learning are all fostered in a smaller classroom environment with a higher level of parent involvement. There will also be music and Spanish classes. This program offers an alternative for parents who wish to provide the best education possible for their children in a family-friendly, supportive environment. KBPC encourages children to express themselves individually while guiding their education in a positive manner. Call them at 546-7519.

There is an upcoming fundraiser for all of the Co-op programs on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Crosbyand#8217;s restaurant, Incline Village, Nev. at 6 p.m. There will be face painting, a silent auction and great raffle prizes. Meal tickets are $20 at the door, call (775) 546-7519, or e-mail coralee21@yahoo.com.
