The Incline Community Business Association meeting is from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30 at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center. Guest speaker at the meeting will be Cheri Sprenger, executive director of the North Tahoe Business Association. The theme of the meeting is andamp;#8220;Advocacy and Collaboration for Incline businesses.

Dr. Bateman, Dean of Sierra College, Tahoe-Truckee campus is known for her engaging and entertaining teaching style andamp;#8212; skills which earned her awards at both Sierra Nevada and Sierra Colleges. The Kings Beach Merchants’ Association will hold its first event, a holiday open house, on Dec., 5, from 4 to 8 p.m., at area businesses (including Brockway Bakery, Robin’s Nest, As You Wish and 7-Eleven). There are no official members of the Kings Beach Merchants’ Association, as the group wants to avoid fees.

Elizabeth and Olof Carmel are partnering with the Truckee Donner Land Trust to host a book launch event for andamp;#8220;The Changing Range of Lightandamp;#8221; at the Carmel Gallery, 9940 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, Saturday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. Signed copies of andamp;#8220;The Changing Range of Lightandamp;#8221; and andamp;#8220;Brilliant Watersandamp;#8221; will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Truckee Donner Land Trust. My Morning Out is a once a week child care program provided by the First Baptist Church of Tahoe City for children ages birth through five years old. Tuesday mornings, 9 a.m. to noon, through Dec. 15; Jan. 5 through June 8. There will be no MMO on Feb. 16 or April 6. If TTUSD cancels school on Tuesday due to snow, My Morning Out will be canceled that day. First Baptist Church of Tahoe City, 390 Fairway Drive, $10 per child per day. This is a drop in program. Tahoe Forest Hospice Gift and Thrift Stores located in Truckee and Kings Beach are in need of donations. Donations are an important part of hospice fundraising. All proceeds from the stores support hospice services throughout the Truckee-North Lake Tahoe area. They welcome clothing, shoes, books and house wares including small appliances in good working order. Please ask for approval before unloading furniture or TVs.
