Donner Party History Walk, June 26, 10 a.m. Meet Gayle at the flagpole in front of the museum for a short walk to historical sites in the park. Learn about the Donner Party’s ordeal in the perilous winter of 1846-47. Ready, Set, Hike, June 27, 10:30 a.m. Meet Diane at the flagpole in front of the museum. Explore the natural world of Donner Memorial State Park on an easy 1.5 mile hike through the varied ecosystems. Suitable for age 7 and up. Qualifies for Junior Ranger credit. Be one of the first docents for the new Eriksson Education Center at the UC Davis Field Station in Tahoe City. The 2010 Docent Training Program for the Eriksson Education Center will be held twice: June 26 and June 30, 1-4 p.m. These single, three-hour training programs in environmental science education and leadership will provide new docents with all the instruction needed to help the public explore the new education center and surrounding area. Help the Incline Village Library commemorate five years in the new facility as Incline Village celebrates its 50th year, Saturday, June 26. Birthday cake will be served. Are you ready to Tri? The Tahoe LUNA Chix want to help you transition into your first (or 50th) Donner Lake Triathlon with ease. Familiarize yourself with the course while you learn how to transition smoothly, get tips on efficiency and connect with a group of inspiring women to help you from the start through the finish line. The Tahoe LUNA Chix will host a free clinic and mock triathlon Sunday, June 27 at 9 a.m. Meet at the West End of Donner Lake and make sure to bring your swim, bike and running gear. Plan on three hours. LUNA product will be available. This clinic is free of charge; donations to the Breast Cancer Fund always appreciated.
